We are approaching the end of the liturgical year.  This coming weekend is already Advent, a time of preparation for Christmas that most probably will be celebrated outdoors.

In this bulletin, you will find a special message for Advent and some pictures taken from the Masses celebrated at our recent location.
Thank you for your participation and continued financial support.
Have a blessed and safe Advent!

Dear Parishioners and friends of Our Lady of Good Counsel,
Yesterday, we received a letter from our Bishop Michael Barber explaining the recent changes regarding the place of worship. Following Bishop’s recommendations, our church will be opened for PRIVATE VISITS ONLY from 9am to 4pm, Monday to Friday including weekends.
Our schedule for OUTDOOR Masses will be slightly modified.  Beginning this weekend, Saturday vigil Mass will be moved from 5pm to 3pm with individual confessions from 2pm to 2:45pm in Adoration Chapel. Our Sunday Mass schedule will remain the same.  It means the first Mass on Sunday will be celebrated at 8:30am and the second Mass at 11am. Daily Masses will remain at 10am. All Masses have to be celebrated OUTDOOR ONLY until further notice.
Saturday vigil Mass and 11am Sunday Mass will be streamed via zoom

Due to weather conditions, you can participate in Mass staying inside your car through the entire Mass and at the Communion time, you will be asked to step out from your car. Also, you may bring your own folding chair and sit close to your car. Please remember to park your car facing the Parish hall.

Our Parish office will be open before and after each Mass. It is located in the original place at the parish hall.
Bathrooms will be open at the main entrance to the church and at the parish hall.

More details including Bishop’s letter will be published in the next edition of our electronic bulletin.

Thank you for your patience and cooperation.

Stay safe!

As we informed you in our last email, beginning this Sunday, November 15th, we will be going to our pre-Covid Sunday schedule with two Masses. First Sunday Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 in the morning and the second one at 11:00 am (NOT at 10:00am ANYMORE) .  All Masses will be celebrated inside the main church with a limited number of participants (62) on FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS with an extension to the parish hall that can accommodate additional 70 people. Communion will be served in both places at the same time.

Saturday Vigil Mass will remain at 5:00pm with individual confession at 4:00pm in Adoration Chapel until the construction of our new confessional room is completed.

Daily Masses will continue to be celebrated at 10:00am (NOT 9:00am).
Please share these important changes with others.

In attachment, you will find more details on this topic and other information.

Thank you for your prayers and continued financial support.

Good evening everyone,
Last two Sundays, we experienced an increased number of participants at 10:00am indoor Mass.
Because of the Covid restrictions, we use the main church and parish hall. Still  we have some difficulties to accommodate all who come to this ONLY Mass on Sunday,

Beginning this Sunday, November 15th, we will be going to our pre-Covid Sunday schedule with two Masses. First Sunday Mass will be celebrated at 8:30 in the morning and the second one at 11:00 am (NOT at 10:00am ANYMORE) .  It will help us to accommodate better all participants and create a space between those two Masses for CCD classes that are coming back in the near future.

Saturday Vigil Mass will remain at 5:00pm with individual confession at 4:00pm in Adoration Chapel until the construction of our new confessional room is completed.

Daily Masses will continue to be celebrated at 10:00am (NOT 9:00am).

Please inform others about these important changes.

Thank you and may God bless you and your family.

Because the weather is changing and temperature outside is getting lower, we have decided to move ALL liturgical activities from the grotto area to inside the church.

Beginning this Sunday, November 8, our 10am Mass will be celebrated inside the church with the extension to the parish hall.  When you arrive, please use the main entrance where your temperature will be checked and you will be seated on the FIRST COME FIRST SERVED BASIS. When the allowed capacity of the church is already met, you will be directed to our beautiful parish hall where a big screen will allow you to participate in the Mass and where the Holy Communion will be served. Please bring your face covering and follow the instructions of the Knights of Columbus.
Last weekend, the Saturday vigil Mass was moved to the church.  Also, all our daily Masses, Monday to Friday, including first Saturday Mass tomorrow will be celebrated at 10am inside the church.
Unfortunately, our Adoration Chapel will remain closed until further notice. We are planning to put in place some logistics that will allow us to open and keep our Chapel safe.
Beginning this weekend, our parish Gift Shop will be open before and after 5pm vigil Mass on Saturday and 10am Mass on Sunday with a number of customers limited to 3 at a time. Please respect social distancing and keep your face covered all the time.
In the enclosed electronic bulletin, you will find our Mass schedule and other information including beautiful pictures taken at the last baptismal ceremony at the grotto.
Thank you for your loyalty to our parish and your financial support.
May God continue to bless you and your family!

In response to the notice from the Diocese of Oakland to reopen in-person church services, Our Lady of Good Counsel is revising its Mass schedule, beginning tomorrow, October 31, 2020, as follows, subject to the provisions of the COVID-19 Ordinance of the Alameda County Public Health Officer:

·         The Saturday Vigil Mass will be held at 5:00 pm inside the church in anticipation of late afternoons getting darker as we get deeper into Autumn.

·         The Sunday Mass will still be celebrated at 10:00 am outside in the Grotto area as we have done in the past few months.  The informal survey we conducted a couple of weekends ago found that a large number of attendees still want to continue the pleasure of having Mass outdoors under our beautiful trees. We will hold Sunday Masses outside for as long as the weather remains comfortable.

·         Daily Masses will be held at 10:00 am also at the Grotto (weather permits).

This coming Monday, November 2nd, All Souls Day, we will celebrate Mass for our Faithful Departed at 10:00 am at the Grotto and at 7:00 pm INSIDE the church. On that day, we will begin our Novena Masses that will continue until Tuesday, November 10th. You can still include the names of your faithful departed using a special form available at the vestibule and in the temporary office at the Grotto area.

PLEASE REMEMBER TO CHANGE YOUR CLOCK THIS SATURDAY NIGHT. (ONE HOUR BACKWARDS) SO WE CAN MEET ON SUNDAY AT THE SAME TIME .

Thank you for your prayers and your continued financial support.
